I suggest you try 5N and 7 side by side.

Because why?

You mean not aligned in distance? Not really on a parallel plane?

In parallel plane (everything is symmetrical after all) but not at the right distance.

To find out if the issue is his lenses or the camera. Maybe he got unlucky and got crappy 16-50? Or maybe it's 16-50 that is bad?

If he is getting the same results on 5N (tried and tested 16 MP sensor), then obviously it's the lens issue. If not, then it's the camera.

Klaus already checked with other lenses and found strange results. Makes more sense to try another lens.

Hi Klaus,

If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living? Something in engineering perhaps?

To get back to the main topic, like everyone else, I wish Sony would now focus on their lens selection. They don't seem to realize the Nex system makes little sense with large zooms. Such a small body would make a killing with pancakes lenses ala Pentax or Samsung NX. The latter have gotten it right, except in terms of sensor and EVF. I still believe the Nex7 offers the best compromise: one of the best APS-C sensor (DR & res), great EVF, super compact body and incredibly featured. All it's missing is some compact pancakes lenses to go with it... Damn, when will they get it?

Cloudy Software Architect may be the best match.

Interesting; if Cloudy as in distributed computing; then I guess I'm probably a competitor. Ack well I don't actually compete buy my employer probably does.

I was busy till yesterday. I will have a look later this week. This has nothing to do with teasing but with time management.

I am guessing that the news is still not good, so you are not publishing any results ...
