Is it my imagination or has the amount of spam posts (and fake users) increase significantly since the software upgrade ?

I think you are being very kind calling it spam!
It's more like a hit and run "shit in your letterbox"!
It can't be doing the site any good......maybe a nominated forum user could have the power to remove such "fly tipping" if Klaus is occupied elsewhere or if the hour difference prevents rapid deleting!
