RE: Is it the end of SA mount ??? - Rover - 09-25-2018 If the SA mount goes... is anybody going to notice? RE: Is it the end of SA mount ??? - JJ_SO - 09-25-2018 There must be three or four customers remaining... But none of them will rely only on Sigma's Foveon sensor. As long as they make the dp-series, I don't need an sd. RE: Is it the end of SA mount ??? - JJ_SO - 09-25-2018 WHUUTT? HOW? WHY? https://www.dpreview.com/news/4798649806/sigma-to-take-foveon-full-frame-and-move-to-l-mount Can't believe it... That will be the first 150-200 MP sensor. In Sigma's calculation model.... RE: Is it the end of SA mount ??? - forum - 09-26-2018 So they confirmed that the SA-mount is dead - no more cameras (oddly they say new lenses but that's probably super-cheap to do for them anyway). Yes, it is super cheap to do. Sigma SA mount is basically Canon EOS with a Pentax bayonet mount. 44mm (like EOS EF), same signals and protocol as Canon EOS. So really just a narrower mount to be screwed on, and you have a SA version. Till now they have been making very affordable camera bodies. Will we see a camera going really down on ISO ?? will Sigma offer ISO 6 or 25 ?? So, did the Sigma SA mount lenses have troubles focusing on the native cameras like the EF mount versions do (if the general wisdom is to be believed...) with the Canon cameras? There's all manner of talk circulating about Sigma "not fully cracking" the EF mount protocol and whatnot. RE: Is it the end of SA mount ??? - Brightcolours - 09-26-2018 How the lens goes about its business and the used protocol for commands are two separate "issues". |
