No, you're not. I do it all the time, not stressed either Smile.

IMO, AF with wide is much overrated - it takes the deliberate focus on specific subjects and deliberate DoF zones out of the equation many times Smile.

 

As hyperfocal distance does not really work, contrary to common belief, it means that one has to choose focus very carefully to optimize DoF for exactly those areas one wants to have sharp in focus, even with WA and UWA lenses. This absolutely requires one to focus manually, or manually with some assistance from AF (AF first, than adjust).

 

Of course with TS-Es that is out of the question anyway, MF all the way Wink.
