Fuji claims the lens is optimized for distances from 1...3 m, not for max. resolution at infinity. So in that distance the performance is even stronger.

I was able to buy new 90/2 for ~600 USD in January. The lens is good but nuts in bokeh on closed apertures are shortcoming for me especially after 135/2 DC that I had on Nikon before. From other side 90/2 is much-much sharper than old Nikkor.
