I'm guessing this is the replacement for the K-r. Among other things, two e-dials and weather sealing. Cool stuff for a camera in this class.

Pretty aggressive styling and features:

Looks like they grafted the K-5's controls (dual control wheels, left-side lens-mount), weather sealing and image sensor into a K-r body (no top LCD, plastic body instead of Magnesium). Then they added some rakish styling and textures (kind of Sony-ish, but with the sensible Pentax control layout).

I like it. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

If those things on the left of the camera are rubber flaps, they seem big. Hopefully covering at least both microphone and headphone plugs <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

Just to be sure, what's an e-dial ?

Is it just a second control wheel ?

Nice camera

The price is too high to call it entry-level ... Entry-level would be D3200 with a price of $700 with the kit lens.

So it's announced: http://pentaximaging.com/dslr/K-30_Black#!product-specs

Fully weather sealed, and the product images of it gives a lot of confidence to this feature.

100% coverage in the view finder.

6 FPS (30 JPEG, 8 RAW).

The same functionality with focus peaking as the K-01 (with live view for manual and auto focus, and for video, but stops for video when recording starts, which is too bad).

I see no other cameras in its class than can match this. Just too bad it doesn't support an external microphone.
