Well, I agree a lens is just a tool and it does what it does. But even to tools I can grow a special relationship. If one of these tools continues to repay my investment with nice images, I'd start to look at it with different expectations. I can understand why Sergei was pleased although I do see kind of nervousness in the background. But with all those leaves and backlight, this comparatively low cost lens does an alright job and no need to hide behind more expensive modern lenses.
Next to mention is, body and lens should fit together to get the last bits of sharpness out of pictures. I always can defocus but if manual focusing is difficult, blurred eyelashes remain blurred (not that I did see them). Currently, I'm more into sharpness than ultimate super soft an hyper even bokeh. If somebody thinks it's too nervous - alright, just not his cup of tea. I don't need to convince people to like the bokeh of my pictures but if I show them in public I should be ready to read different opinions.
