I don't necessarily think that the solution is to get another Canon dslr - that is a completely different style of shooting IMO. For one, even with larger lenses, it is less conspicuous than using a dslr. That is at least how people seem to experience it.

Hi Wim - thanks for replying. What I'm really hoping to find is a wise entrance into shooting high quality pictures - with a good video capacity. I actually had decided on the EOS 550d but then happened - by error as I wrote - to buy the NEX-5.



I find the NEX-5 to be a very good camera, however, need to find a (very) good lens at a reasonable price (not the kit lens). For Canon I can find an 18-55mm mk I lens here in Denmark at EUR 67, yet if I decide to keep the NEX-5 I will be looking for something similar (can be manual focus) for the NEX-5. As a good starter's lens that allows me to clarify my needs (which in a positive way became less "clarified" by other replies in this thread) before maybe buying other lenses.



Anyone here have a suggestion for this?



Also, I have an EOS 550d on hand until tomorrow morning so fortunately/unfortunately will need to decide shortly...



I'd appreciate your insights,
