out-of-office (Klaus)
#1
Well, folks, after having battled with my tax application it is now time for some serious vacation again.

This time it'll be a trip to Nepal again (Dhaulagiri-Circuit). I will be out-of-office from Oct 9th to 31st.

You are probably curious so here's what I will take:

Panasonic GH2 + Leica 14-150 (via MFT adapter) + Panasonic 7-14/4. 5 batteries. 32GB Transcent Card. Crumpler Jimmy Bo 600.

My girl friend will take a Oly E-PL3 + 14-42kit.

So to all who are considering me to be biased against FT/MFT ... just eat my shorts. ;-)

Markus and Sebbi will look after things so you can expect some more Nikon (FX, DX, CX) as well as MFT tests during the next few weeks.

After my vacation the priority will be on the NEX-7 (re-)tests.

Why ? The L14150 is certainly better than the 14-42.

Yep; so she has the pleasure of using premium lens <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Just kidding - have a good trip and take some nice pictures.

Btw on a more serious note; I kind of wish the 12-60 had a native u 4/3 mount (I know the purist would argue it defeats the purpose but there are other advantages of a camera like the ep3. Btw dpreview did their full reviews on the nex5n.

A little update - the E-PL3 was less than convincing in a short field trial. I just can't get warm with the PENs - they appear to deliver much softer images than their Panasonic counterparts.

My girlfriend will therefore go for a Pentax Q. IQ-wise it will not be better but at standard ISOs it will probably not be much worse either and even more light-weight.

Our of curiosity, are we talking jpeg or raw when comparing the m4/3 players?

And someone bought a Q? <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />
