Only if the manufacturers have an equally bad JPEG. And that is not the case... Sony is known to at times really mess JPEG output up (A700 was a good example and the A77 seems to be another example). So, I could not care less about its JPEG hi ISO output, I would be much more interested to see what its RAW output offers. The A55/D7000/D5100 chip does well at high ISO, as well as the Canon 7D/600D/60D sensor (and much better at low ISO), so I have no reason to assume the new 24mp chip will be worse. RAW will tell.
