next PZ Lens Test Report: Leica Summarit-M 50mm f/2.5
#1

Slightly better than the Zeiss ZM Planar but insanely expensive.

Thanks for the review.

Will you also test the Sony 50/1.4 (for reference) and the Contax G 45/2 (for the 4.7 super high score on Photodo & small size)?
#3
Can the G lenses be used on such cameras ?

Yes, there're special adapters with a focus ring that turns the AF drive screw.

No, as of now there're no plans. I considered to test the G lenses but apart from the 90/2.8 the used prices are rather prohibitive compared to up-to-date ZMs and the existing G user base is too slim.

We'll test most of the Voigtlander lineup plus a few Zeiss ZMs & Leica Ms.

In this thread, Lars was willing to loan out the G lenses for your testing purposes - Link

I remember Lars' offer. However, Leica M/M39 mount lenses are really the limit here. The Contax Gs have been discontinued almost a decade ago.

I understand your reluctance about discontinued lenses.

For Sony A-mount, there is a native compatibility, including aperture. Please at least test one <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> Maybe the 30 macro or the upcoming 35/1.8DT.

Eventually I will test these lens but based on the A700.

What's the point of testing those on the NEX ?

The primary point of a tiny camera is to stay tiny.

I see also no point for this lenses on the NEX. Something like the Voigtlaender 25/0.95 for NEX would be much more desirable. ;-)
