Maybe some people are thinking about using this lens for nightshots without tripod. To me that was one reason to buy it last October. I'm still very pleased with it. As said in another thread, the lens wide open is demanding for the camera's AF system and for the photographer's skills as well. It takes a bit training and patience to get the sharpness on spot at open aperture and lowlight conditions - but this goes for every other fast lens as well. The thing is only, at wide open + wide angle it can be tricky to place the AF point.
I'm looking forward to the test results.
