Hello All,

On the internet I found Card readers als big (or small) as an USB-stick. I know size is not always important in equipment (for your computer of course) Do they work properly or should I take caution?

My internal card reader has been broken, so this looked like a easy replacement.

Thanks!

Best wishes,

i've been using a now 2-3 year old kingston mobilelite sd- usb, works fine
I got a cheapo SDHC-USB adapter, about the size of a USB stick drive. It worked fine for a while then started working intermittently. Suspect a bad contact. Replaced it with a semi-desktop USB3 adapter instead.
I have a cheapo Trust UAB adapter which takes 3 kinds of cards, but not compact flash. It works just fine. But if you plan on getting a 5D mk II, or other camera with CF cards, not a good idea to get one without compact flash ability <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

I have an elcheapo adpater (cost around $5) and it works fine. However - I hear that some of these adpaters (both cheap and expensive) sometime has bad pins and don't work. From many reviews I've read it is not clear to me that price determines the quality - often the more expensive ones are simply marked up rather than actually being better (more reliable or better material).
