Is there an international colour chart that would allow me to test a photo printer? I have found a Kodak Q13 (now Tiffen)but I wonder what chart the printer manufacturer use?

Not really, there is no standard for printing. The problem really is that it depends on paper too much, and no two batches of even the same paper are equal.



Your best bet would be to get one of the printer calibration devices, to be very honest. The cheaper ones are fairly labour intensive, but do work well, even for calibrating prints vs laboratory printers <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />, which generally have good consistency if and if only they do follow one's instructions to the letter (I always have null-copies made, no adjustments at all by th elab <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />).



Printer calibration devices generally come with one or more standard colour chart options to calibrate one's printer/ink/paper combinatiosn against one's images.

Personally, I still use my Spyder/Printer 3 Pro Colour set. Works well for me.

THere are of course also the pantone color charts and swatches that have been used for decades for graphics (1950s), you should be able to buy some swatches.
