I reckon this means that the son of the founder may have taken over the business.

Daddy was more into straight-forward mass production from what I've heard.

Sigma 35 F1.4 will start shipping before the end of this month in US, price is $899.

Really interesting price if the quality is there at f1.4. If it comes out like the 50mm f1.4, forget it! Then I'd rather stick to my 35mm f2 at 350€ I guess time will tell. It is easy to develop a concept on paper, not so much to get the product that reflects the new concepts.
