Perfect - a X-E1 without this senseless optical VF and a 14mm prime. I'm a happy camper!

Oh, BTW, in case somebody is interested - I'm selling the X-Pro1 & XF 18mm f/2 from our test stock.
Market price -25% (=1630EUR) as a package or -20% per item (=1200EUR for the X-Pro1, 440EUR for the 18mm f/2).
The 14mm is not a pancake, and Fuji claims sharpness from corner to corner. If they also have distortion under control, this should be a very nice lens.

Well, they apply distortion auto-correction (see the 18mm f/2 review) under the hood.
Given the size can _comparatively_ low speed of the 14mm they should not let loose altogether.
900$ is also not cheap.
They should have made a 16-50 standard zoom instead of 18-55.
Do you think the evf and auto focus will be better on the e-1 ? When I played with an xpro-1 in a shop the evf refresh rate (indoors) was quite annoying. I actually have high hope for the evf on the e-1 since folks are claiming it is the same one in the nex-6...

Yes, always a bit late on spotting the trends, that is the 24mm trend...
Canon 15-85, Zeiss 16-80, Olympus 12-60 & 12-50, Panasonic 12-35, Canon 24-105, Nikon 24-120, Canon/nikon/tamron/sigma 24-70 & so on...
Nice aperture, though.
Well, they must've deduced that most people will be getting an UWA lens anyways. Hardly anybody I know is content with having a 24mm equivalent. Also having the kit zoom start at 16mm would've hurt the sales of the 14mm. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

Whatever, I do prefer kit zooms providing a 24mm equivalent.
same here, I do appreciate those 4mm extra <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

Every extra mm is a chance not to have to switch lenses. Overlap is good.
