Well, first thought .. Great.

2nd thought ... Now what ?

The only lens which makes a little sense could be the 50L.As for the rest ... the Sony adapters seem to make more sense.
Yes, it is appealing as I have both Canon and Sony gear. If only it had AF... without AF the usefulness is greatly reduced, for me at least.

However, I can see people owning both NEX and Zeiss ZE / Canon's TS-E and MP-E lenses wanting to get this adapter.

That will make them sell 11 of those adapters then <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' /> .

If the NEX cameras would be not such ergonomic nightmares, it might be fun to have one. And then I could use for instance my 70-200mm f4 on it too. But what the advantages would be over my 450D, I am not sure. higher resolution files, of course.
I think it would be most interesting for manual focus lenses with its focus peek or whatever its called feature. With a crop sensor Canon the viewfinder isn't up to fast lens MF and ordinary live view has its limits.

I have next to no handling issues on the NEX5 - apart from the missing viewfinder.

So it depends on your usage profile. I can imagine that it is a nightmare for some.
I have very little gripes with NEX-3 either. NEX-7 is much better (in fact, some details of its operation remind me a lot of my 1D Mark II N... namely the AF point selection method where a horizontal dial scrolls AF points horizontally and a vertical dial scrolls vertically. Very cool.

And, last but not least, the NEX-3 has better IQ than my Canon. Not sure about the 7.
