Not really a test IMHO. More an impression.

Well, a lens that will certainly find its way into peoples camerabags.

Nevertheless ... when doing the images the guy in the link did, it

becomes aparent how difficult a manual focussed lens is. Doing

the same thing with a 5D and a EF 85/1.8 (which is about the same

field of view and about the same depth of field ... you have to boost

iso by 1.5 stops) would give the same sort of images much easier.

Likely the rate of focus-hits would be dramatically increased, so

would be image-sharpness. ...

But eventuelly you would have less fun taking the images. Using

manual fokus (and manual aperture) lenses has its own magic (at least to me).

Just my 2cts ... Rainer

5D + 85/1.8 is a lot bigger and heavier. For many it's a key factor.

I don't think that really is true here, this lens being half a kilo kind of defeats the light and small part of NEX, making it lighter and smaller still for sure, but being too heavy to be a real candidate for lightness...

Also, the 85mm f1.8 does AF, for many that is a key factor.

There is something wrong in the images shown. The images all seem to have a problem with the bokeh, where the colours seem to not lay over eachother correctly... as if a misprint happened, shifting different print colours ir relation to eachother. Very unattractive and problematic? I can not imagine that it is a post processing thing?

Of course.
