Opticallimits

The images I have seen are pretty APO-ish.

Manufacturing costs will be pretty high for Zeiss, with 14 elements and only 1 single mount so low production numbers. But the end result (only an f2.8 135mm) makes the price indeed silly.

I've looked super closely and I cannot see "any" green fringing, unless anybody wants to put me on the right track!

There was one in the Flickr photo-stream on the Zeiss Batis 135mm homepage.  Maybe it was incorrectly tagged ?

Given the samples from BC's link I would concur that it looks APOish.
