Oh, you mean the new one? That could be tested on a Canon body as well, actually <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />. However, I somehow doubt that, as it still is a pain to set any other aperture than wide opee, F/8 and completely closed with a G-EOS adapter.

Maybe Klaus and Markus are just making it difficult for us, by Klaus announcing the 85 F/1.4 test that Markus is working on <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />.

Kind regards, Wim

Well, lets hope then that it is the Sigma, it would be nice if that lens performed really well at a fraction of the cost of the lovely but expensive EF 85mm f1.2 L USM II.

I am fortunate, I guess. The 85L II is the exact reason why I am not in the market for another fast 85 <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />.

Sorry folks ...

Bare

You tested both Samyng and Zeiss so Sigma is only one left but I don't think that Sigma hit the shelves yet.

EDIT: Oh, it's A-mount lens.

Uh oh, I consider myself lucky to be around 800km away from this event :-D

Is the behaviour of this lens comparable to the results of the Zeiss ZF (ZE) Planar T* 85mm f/1.4 on Canon EOS FF? Or is this an example of complete different results because of different systems?

It is a different lens. It has no contrast issues at f/1.4 and the close focus performance is also superior.

Sound nice, indeed. I'm excited to see how Nikon and Sigma will compete in their corresponding tests.
