Looks slow and probably not fantastic optically. Isn't f6.3 at the long end already limiting resolution.... then again the lens is probably not optically able to be impacted.
As expected, very weak at the long end according to the MTF charts: https://www.olympus.com.au/getattachment...2.gif.aspx

A compact but optically good 12-100 4-5.6 would make more sense.
Or something more unique and not found in any other system, like a 10-50.
Would be the ultimate travel zoom IMO.
I feel like Rover now.
From Olympus website:
"LH-76C Lens Food, LC-72D Lens Cap, LR-2 Lens Rear Cap, Lens Case, instruction manual, warranty card"

There is such a lens, the 12-100 F/4 Pro Smile.

Kind regards, Wim
12-200 is clearly aimed to compete with superzoom  1” bridge cams. Matched with relevant m43 body, it makes a more flexible combo, having similar reach and speed as RX10IV, G3X, or FZ2500 or alikes.

Smarter than bringing yet another bridge cam to the market, IMO.

Read my message again: I said compact. The 12-100 f4 is anything but compact, it's a beast (like this 12-200 btw).
If Oly 12-200 and 12-100 are beasts, than photo world has gotten full of monsters lately. These Oly’s are not small for sure, yet considering the range I would certainly not call them beasts.
Just saying - the 12-100mm f/4 PRO is one of my most favorite lenses ever.
This one, however ... well ... the MTFs aren't great to start with.

Prolly like the 12-50 which was also f/6.3 at the long end.
