Interesting that it's only $100 dollar more than their 18-55mm f2.8-4... technically, since there is a $300 rebate when it is bundled with a camera.
I doubt I will be buying, since I barely use the 18-55 mm, but I will be interested in seeing how it fares.
It'll be a high priority lens in da lab.
However, the manufacturer MTFs aren't super promising:

Is that the same as saying it will suck ?
Based on the MTF published by Fuji, it will likely suffer from coma and / or astigmatism quite badly, from about 1/3 from the edges, and appears to get worse towards the edges.
In the center it appears to do just fine.
If it sucks or not depends entirely on your requiremnts and how you'd prefer a lens to render
.
Kind regards, Wim
Great lens on paper and based on the specs. It would be close to my ideal lens.
However the mft curves look rather disappointing.
Klaus, any ETA as far as a review goes?
Thanks!
Well, it has a September ETA. Realistically end of October I guess.
Very interested in this lense. A good option to replace the 18-55
It hasn‘t been released yet ...

In October or something like that.
