The lens is currently in da lab ... and pretty good actually. Yes, JJ - it still lacks EXIF.
Laowa mustb take more seriously being honest with their marketing
You can't use the same sample pictured for two different products
just compare with their own 100mm samples

Not sure what you are referring to... I don't see any duplicate images.

Looks a very interesting lens !!

Mirror-less only ......
Oh, it's not what I thought it to be - it's an APS-C only lens designed to mimic the 100mm on FF, not a complimentary product designed to be similar to the Canon MP-E (which is also 65mm but for FF).

Nothing new - Laowa just sticks to their design concept. But I wonder how they did some of their macros? Obviously the DoF is larger than it could be without focus stacking. At the moment I have some little things to take pictures form. I did and I also did focus stacks but altogether, I'm not really satisfied with the results.

To the point that I really think about getting a motorize macro-rail and do the stacking with this. I just believe it will change the perspective constantly (as the camera is moving towards or away) and the stacking software will have troubles.
This is a total nonsense "sample image"

Why would they post something like that nonsense photoshop collage as a sample image?

And I agree with JoJu that this for sure is not a "sample image" from that lens, but at least a huge photo stack:

high vignetting wide open ?

BC, some of praying mantises are quite big. If the one pictured is naturally big than the picture is possible. We had one in our yard that was close to 4"

Not that species: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creobroter_gemmatus and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flower_mantis

Wikipedia says 3.8 - 4 cm And as it raised it's legs as threatening gesture, so the lens was close. I have a 60 mm macro and I'd say the transition between sharp structures on the stone and blurred parts happens too sudden to be only the DoF of an aperture.
