The rumours were mostly wrong.
Even a smaller update than the Nikon Z7 II and Z6 II.
Same DiGiC 8 processor, same 24mp imaging sensor as M50. Differences: the DPAF II, and vertical video shooting (Yes, really).
I guess the rumoured specs were those of an M5 Mk II (which makes more sense anyway).

So far the camera doesn't show up on the Canon Europe/UK & Australia websites.
Maybe just a last, local offering in selected markets.

Canon could simply add the new features via a firmware update.... but then they won't be making $$$ Although it is totally legal to make people pay for software, from a camera maker customer won't like the idea since we are used that usually software comes bundled with the already expensive hardware
