Wow, the new year does start with a bang. :-)
Thank you for the review, Klaus!
The lens is very impressive and one of the best values in the lineup.
I would be curious to see how well (or bad) it fares on the new 40MP sensor.
From the samples, it looks pretty good at f1.2 on the high resolution sensor. The duck picture for instance, shows pretty sharp blades of grass all the way to the image edge (sure, it's not exactly the corners, but still).
Speaking of Viltrox, do you plan on testing their 13mm f1.4 at some stage?
And now for the spoiler: is the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 next in line? eheh ;-)
Markus has already produced a gazillion of test data at 26mp ... albeit he's struggling to find his writer genes ... so we are sticking to this for now.
And yes, he has already tested the Viltrox 13mm f/1.4 - with pretty good results.

As for the Sigma ... yes, it's coming ... but first ... a vintage test or two. ;-)
Yeah writing is difficult when inspiration is lacking.
However, how about publishing the measurement figures for what he already tested? In a gallery for instance. This would be very useful already and would require very little effort on Markus' part.

Any hints on the vintage tests? ;-)

Thanks again for the review, I'm sure everybody here appreciate the time and work you put in it.
I suppose Markus has about 50ish MTFs "in stock" by now ... ;-)
Which is a little strange - doing all the lab tests is more time-consuming than writing - but we are all different.
I'm not sure whether a gallery is really the right mechanism here though.

Anyway, the first vintage test will be out tomorrow.

Probably not, but good enough.
At least there is almost nothing to do since the mechanism it's already in place.

Yay!
Nice to hear Markus is, well, not gone from the process, for lack of better words. Hope you guys can regain the reviewin' groove. That is not to imply any disrespect, of course.
