We conclude that smartphones " killed" compact cameras, which is not overly true as smartphones are actually advanced compact cameras, having practically all the features compact cameras have aside zoom lens.
In early years we had massive exodus from film cameras to digital , which explains the high sales, then the market stabilized and photographers got back to their usual upgrading rate with a drop in 2020 due to COVID pandemic
