(Though I can give them a hint about what else might be missing in the lineup)

Everyone asking for smaller lighter lenses, Sony tried to answer, but I recon this lens is not that tempting.
I am still awaiting for promised Canon 20-40f4 pancake, but dunno if it will ever be manufactured
