As for Hoya owning Kenko Tokina... from what I see that's not true. However, Kenko Tokina's shareholders are people with key positions within Hoya. So they're clearly linked.

Both Kenko and Tokina have been bought by Hoya, and Hoya merged them into Kenko Tokina. Not a big secret... The Tokina-Pentax cooperation on lens design and manufacture made Hoya buy Pentax.
