Haven't compared it in depth yet against the 7D2, but when the price drops I think this could be a good 2nd body for me and I can retire the 7D original. I don't need it that much, but I do want tilt screen in something better than my 600D...
Looking at UK pricing, it is pre-ordering at £1000, which isn't much less than the typical street price of 7D2 at 1180-ish.
I will be interesting to see the sensor improvements and I hope the next eos m uses it.
Only clicked on a couple preview videos so far, and found it curious they spent a lot of the time talking about video functions. Am I the only person still shooting stills?
Didn't notice before, but I forgot they changed the button layout since the 50D I used to have in the series. So I'm not so sure any more about it being 2nd body. It would be yet another different layout than all my other bodies... only the 7D1 and 5D2 came close to each other.
Having attempted to shoot some videos I found it difficult to create quality productions, it makes you appreciate the film industry. Really the quality of the video capture was the least of my issues. Of greater concern were direction, lighting, camera aids, content etc etc, anything but the sensor quality / frame rate / resolution. Going back and watching films (tv cinema) makes you realise every scene is lit, carefully constructed and would stand on its own photographically.
There is a lot of fuss about the lack of 4k on this camera, but I think cannon has gone the right way here is providing great autofocus, power zoom, stabilisation etc and hasn't got bogged down with 4k. Anything to make shooting easier is fine by me.

At least they've agreed on putting the MENU and INFO buttons in the same place (the first to have them there was the 1D Mark III, and now even the Rebels have them there - though not in the same shape!)
