"AF works only from 1.5m to infinity" -- folks at Laowa, you're stoned. π
Well, it sounds strange, but the Sony SEL70200G (the old 70-200mm Ζ/4) has a minimum focusing distance of 1.35m, but won't autofocus under 1.5m (pretty much stated in the specs). Yes, it's just 15cm, but the strangeness is there.

P.S. For macro, I guess I'd try tracking down a used Sigma 180mm f/3.5 macro HSM instead. They seem to be cheap on the used market.
You just recalled me that I have a legacy 180mm Ζ/2.8 from my previous Nikon life. Not macro, but I bet it performs fine with an extension tube. I need to find a cheap Nikon to e-mount adapter with electronics (without AF, the lens was mechanically focused) at least for EXIF data (but... did the old AF-N/D Nikkor lenses offer aperture reading? Now that I think of it, perhaps they don't, aperture was also mechanically driven).
