I finally received mine on the 23rd, but only got to try it on in action today. As luck would have it, I have an old NEX camera from 15 years ago, and a 18-55mm kit zoom that came with it, so I tried this lens on my Z9 after all.
"I'm not outta my mind. To be "out" of my mind, first I had to have been "in" it at some point, which was not the case".
The lens fits very tightly, and at first I thought there was something wrong with the adapter. But after playing around with the supplied cap, I noticed that it rotates easily around 3/4 way in, then you have to apply slightly more force, which I eventually did with the lens (though of course at first I was deathly afraid of breaking the adapter...) It meters and focuses fine, even though peculiarly enough, the aperture is reported to be f/5.3 at the long end instead of f/5.6. No complaint for me on that regard, of course. 🙂
Note that obviously I didn't buy the adapter for the sake of the lousy old Sony kit lens... I'm just thinking of decimating my Canon EF mount gear and replacing at least most of it with newer stuff, eventually. Now, I can just cross-shop E-mount gear. Hope this adapter doesn't break down like the other thing I got from Aliexpress last year did (I thus refer you to the story of my tribulations with the Laowa 10mm f/2.8 lens...)
