Hi guys, I've started using my Nikon D850 a little with a few general winter shots etc, but when processing RAW files using CS6 (+adobe RAW converter) with the 45 Mps images coupled with my newish 4K screen, although the images are as normal, the text and pointer are so minuscule as to be invisible.
After googling to find a workaround I fell on a thread that explained how to change the text size as follows:
*Go to Photoshop.exe, right click on it and go to Properties then to Compatibility.
Go to High DPI settings. Check override DPI setting and set it to System.
Restart Photoshop.
.... and voilà the text size is large like it was with a 24 Mps image on a HD monitor .... Am I'm home and dry? Well no, all general image adjustments work except for those that use sizing scales (DPI) such as the adjustment brush, where the size of the area to be treated becomes twice that of the circle indicated on the screen, that makes things unusable.
The work around is to have two of the same CS6s portable installed, one with settings with large text and incorrect sizing and the other with micro text and a usable adjustment brush, on different hard drives .....
So my processing now comprises of converting NEF files into DNGs (because CS6 does not recognize D850 RAW files) then doing processing in the two CS6s in order to be able to do what I could do before with my D750 files in one CS6 sitting .... (just to add to the misery all my cloning is done in Photo-impact 10) ..... OUCH!
The expression:
"to cut off your nose to spite your face" springs to mind here ...... 🙂
