8.25% barrel distortion

I'm impressed.

Short of the fisheyes - is this a new record?

We've had close to 10% in Canon's 16mm f/2.8, and >9% in their 10-20L. So no, 8.25% is almost tame in comparison.

I guess the lens in question is Canon's 15-30mm?

P.S. 8% of pincushion distortion would have been well-nigh unheard of. 😃
