This has to be the highest mark ever given on FF?... at least in the ML era (I vaguely remember the Nikon 105mm f/1.4 getting 5 stars from Markus back in the day...)
Klaus, you already "sold" the Sony 24mm f/1.4 GM to me, though Bastian of PhillipReeve.net was your unwitting co-conspirator in this regard, lol. Now the two of you are on the way to getting me to want this lens, too, although I still like my Tamron 85mm f/1.8. :-)
BTW regarding the Sigma 85mm f/1.4; your review indicates it has over 3% of pincushion distortion where the Sony has none, so there is a weak spot after all (resolution-wise, it's a little worse, too, but that's well into the territory of hair-splitting for practical purposes). Thing is, I may have drunk the Kool-Aid of Sony lenses now, but I'm still adapting, so auto-correction is under a question mark at best.
And thanks again for the review. The pace you've taken up lately is nothing short of amazing, though I can imagine the backlog of review-able lenses to be immense as well.
