"Fast standard OEM zoom lenses have become quite expensive over the years and apparently that’s also something that Nikon recognized as well, it’s a popular segment, so they made a deal with Tamron." ...........
That doesn't just apply to standard zooms. I've been looking at UUWs for my Sony. There's the "slow" Sony 12-24/4 G. Tamron recently snuck in this space with a 12-20/2.8. It weighs the same as the G and costs $500 less. But still pricey nonetheless.
For landscape use I'd prefer if Tamron made it as an F/4. Or if someone came out with a quality and much lighter f/4.5-5.6 (Sigma?). I'm not holding my breath.... For landscape use I'm starting to consider the Laowa MF f/5.6. In real use it would be at the HF distance or at infinity a majority of the time. Which would probably work for most architecture cases too.
Klaus, how about a review of the Laowa? A plus with this lens is it uses 77mm screw on filters.
