RE: Interesting ... RF 200-800mm ... - Klaus - 11-02-2023 So it is real - an extending zoom lens: https://www.canon.com.au/camera-lenses/rf-200-800mm-f6-3-9-is-usm Not sure what to make of its MTFs. Not too hot but this MAY relate to the slow aperture. https://cweb.canon.jp/eos/rf/lineup/rf200-800-f63-9/spec.html RE: Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM - Kodachrome 25 - 11-02-2023 Look, what Canon did there: You buy the ET-101 lens hood for only 1899 and the lens is included! RE: Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM - Klaus - 11-02-2023 Seems to be a reasonable value to me this time. The big question mark may be image quality - 3x UD elements aren't a hell of a lot for such a long lens. However, I give Canon the benefit of the doubt here. RE: Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM - Rover - 11-02-2023 Happy to be proven wrong on both counts. It's time Canon got off their usual high horse, if just for a while. As I understand there is now a multifunctional ring, but no real focus ring. I don’t yet understand what that means, though they may be on a journey to drop the focus ring. I rarely use these on my lenses. S-AF most of the time and C-AF in special situations. Very rarest do I move to MF. |
