Light weight telephoto setup - Rover - 02-12-2016

I guess you're SOL on the lens front for the time being if you choose Pentax... Though Sigma has released a bunch of new-ish lenses in the Pentax mount (I think the first batch of the new lenses that had HSM across all mounts - like the 50/1.4 EX, the 12-24 II, the 85/1.4 EX - have been released in the K mount, but none of the Global Vision lenses have).

 

Time will tell if the lens makers decide to catch up after the much touted Pentax FF camera comes out, but I don't count on the process being fast. I used to defend every underdog but Pentax has become such to an annoyingly high degree, so I'd stay well away from that brand.

Agreed about pentax, all they have to offer is vaporware.

However their system might be enough for the majority of GWC (Guys With Camera) who just get a camera with the kit lens and stay there, for those who are more demanding Pentax has nothing more than promises
