so the 16mp MFT age is coming to an end after all - Klaus - 07-14-2015 20mp then (we'll stick to 16mp though) http://www.43rumors.com/ft5-first-images-of-the-new-panasonic-fz300/ Dual IS sounds kinda cool. so the 16mp MFT age is coming to an end after all - Ayoh - 07-15-2015 Dual OS is what sony do already with the A7ii/rii. Why not if it the hardware is there so the 16mp MFT age is coming to an end after all - josa - 07-15-2015 Just bought GX7 for good $$$, I am sure the new model will be better but also more expensive.Probably more than E M5 mkII. so the 16mp MFT age is coming to an end after all - thxbb12 - 07-15-2015 Looks very promising. I really hope their IBIS implementation will feature similar efficiency to Oly's counterpart. In terms of shape, I think a rangefinger-style body (i.e. rectangular) makes much more sense than a DSLR-style one. Mostly, because of the pentaprism hump which is totally artificial and a waste of space since there is no mirror! I'm very curious about the sensor and the AF which seems very sensitive given it's rated at -4EV. so the 16mp MFT age is coming to an end after all - Guest - 07-16-2015 Quote:20mp thenPixel density equivalent to a 30 mp APS-C sensor. so the 16mp MFT age is coming to an end after all - Brightcolours - 07-16-2015 Horizontal crop factor of about 1.36 (using "1.5x crop APS-C" as guide). 20 x 1.36 x 1.36 = 37mp, not 30? so the 16mp MFT age is coming to an end after all - thxbb12 - 07-16-2015 MFT has a 2x crop factor. APS-C ~1.5x (or 1.6x for Canon) Ratio MFT/APS-C is 2/1.5 = 1.3333 Has to be squared for the surface: 1.3333^2 * 20 MP = 35.55 MP APS-C so the 16mp MFT age is coming to an end after all - Brightcolours - 07-16-2015 Quote:MFT has a 2x crop factor.Nikon D7200 sensor size: 23.5mm wide. Olympus OM-D E-M10 sensor size: 17.3mm wide. 23.5 / 17.3 = 1.3584 so the 16mp MFT age is coming to an end after all - thxbb12 - 07-16-2015 Quote:Nikon D7200 sensor size: 23.5mm wide. It would be more appropriate to take the diagonal then: I agree that one should distract MP's to get a 3 x 2 MP count . So 37mp would be a 3:4 sensor. A 3:2 sensor would then be about 33mp. |
