Second page as well - extra space in front of a ? above teh MTF stuff. next PZ lens test report: Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 USM L IS II - nandadevieast - 12-20-2014 Klaus, this was fast. Will this lens work/af with 1.4x extenders on a 6D? Talking about extenders, you should add 1.4x resolution results to the review. Many will be deciding between this and tamron/sigma 150-600s and it will help. Also I will appreciate the close focus results as the MFD is good. And lastly, focus breathing ![]() Well done, Nde next PZ lens test report: Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 USM L IS II - Rover - 12-20-2014 Also, I see that the Tamron 150-600 is also in your hands? ![]() next PZ lens test report: Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 USM L IS II - Klaus - 12-20-2014 Well, what can I ... say  next PZ lens test report: Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 USM L IS II - Klaus - 12-20-2014 Quote:Klaus, this was fast. I think the 6D can only go down to f/5.6 so no - the AF won't work with the EF 1.4x. It would work (to some degree) with a third-party converter that doesn't adjust the effective aperture. The Tammy/Sigma are fine here - they are faking the effective aperture to avoid triggering the limiter in the camera. About the effective focal length at shorter focus distances - no I didn't look into this. Isn't that a bit of a phantom pain in this case ? I can understand the discussion with a 90mm macro lens but with a 400mm zoom lens ? next PZ lens test report: Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 USM L IS II - popo - 12-20-2014 The focal length shrinkage is pretty noticeable on the 70-300L. So when close focusing, you're not as close as you might hope to be as it were. As another question for the 100-400 II: if you focus on something at one focal length, change to another focal length, does the focus remain at the same distance? I haven't gone back and compared the I and II reviews here yet, but Lensrentals have also done a quick test at 400mm. In short, new one about same in centre, better off centre. |
