There are leaked videos about the camera. One needs to search since the website that leaked them holds the copyright and uses this to get websites to remove it.

The E-M1 is rumoured to serve as the E-5 successor. It should be able to AF with FT (not only mFT) lenses at decent speed.

So it will be interesting to see how the new 12-40 lives up to the legendary 12-60 FT lens. The nice touch is that we finally get a high quality zoom lens (line?) from Olympus. So far all their zooms have been good consumer lenses.

Looks awesome - albeit probably a little big.

Well, not THAT big... It is quite a bit smaller than a Canon 24-70mm f4 L USM. I do wonder how much it will vignette though, with its 62mm filter size... The Canon 24-70mm f4 has a 77mm filter size, the old Oly 12-60mm f2.8-4 a 72mm one.

Hum. Maybe Klaus can get a special advance and test it next week Smile

From the figures I think the lens is well balanced with the camera.

It looks bigger indeed but there's hoping it's all for the best.

Of note, the L-Fn button return. Hope it's sealed too, should be.

Price in yen is rumored and converts into 680€, of course it will be more expensive here but likely still cheaper than 12-35 X?

Yea the rumour sez $900 for the lens; though it remeains to see the optical quality. Also it is a bit difficult to judge relative size since the em-1 is larger than the em-5

According to the latest rumor:

E-M1: 130.4 x 93.5 x 63.1mm, 497g (including battery media)

vs E-M5: 122 x 89 x 43 mm, 425 g

12-40mm f2.8: 84 x 69.9 mm, 382 g

vs 12-35mm f2.8: 74 x 68 mm, 305 g

vs 12-60mm f2.8-4: 99 x 80mm, 575 g

So, the size of E-M1 does not look bad, but the lens is bulky  (at least bulkier than the Pana 12-35mm).

To be confirmed by tomorrow's announcement.

As far as lenses are concerned, I'm on the the bigger (in the same class) the better side honestly.
