I've attached the MTFs of a lens. Which one and what do you see here ?

This is not (really) a joke.

Not the SMC Pentax DA 50mm f/1.8? <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

Prime or zoom?

My first thoughts were, in order:

Sigma 30/1.4

Canon 28/1.8

Sigma 28/1.8

Sigma 24/1.8

Pentax FA43/1.9

Sony 16/2.8

But none really match, maybe the Canon 28/1.8 has the most similar characteristic with the wavy correction at the corners.

All wrong so far. Please look 'behind' the question. [Image: rolleyes.gif]

For fun I would say Canon 50mm f/1.0, but I doubt the centre resolution would be so high!

Interesting action in the border/corner region there. Badly corrected spherical aberration?

Ah, ok.

MTF not corrected for field curvature? Of a lens with strong FC?
