Two review articles on Leica M Monochrome - frank - 09-21-2012 I find the following two articles are quite interesting. Although some of you might have read them, I would still like to share them here and hear your comments: http://www.reddotforum.com/content.php/231-ISO-Test-Leica-M-Monochrom-vs.-Leica-M9 http://www.focus-numerique.com/test-1450/compact-leica-m-monochrom-presentation-caracteristiques-1.html (Google translation: http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.focus-numerique.com%2Ftest-1450%2Fcompact-leica-m-monochrom-presentation-caracteristiques-1.html) Two review articles on Leica M Monochrome - frank - 09-21-2012 From the reviews, no doubt the M-M is very impressive in producing details. But I wonder if this is the camera for a serious B&W photographer due to the fact that you are unable to post-process the image by adjusting colors (digital color filters, channel mixing, etc). On the other hand, I had an impression that Henri Cartier-Bresson never used a color filter on his lens. So perhaps the inability to do color mixing is not a problem for at least documentaty type photographs? Frank |
