XP1@DPR - Yakim - 06-28-2012 http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilm-x-pro1 Superb IQ but problematic AF and MF. If they fix the AF issue I'll probably get it when the 18-55/2.8-4 OIS is launched. XP1@DPR - Brightcolours - 06-29-2012 I am not sure if there is a possibility to "fix the AF issue", it does not seem to be software related. It would need a new design of the camera's AF and of the lenses. As far as the camera is concerned this is merely a question of software algorithms and CPU speed. The software algorithms can always be improved. The lens AF is certainly limited by the AF motor. The AF motor "feels" a bit conventional and nowhere as smooth as in (many) MFT lenses. Only first can be improved via firmware, while second usually requires sensor and/or processor upgrade. Oly advertised that they gained AF speed with extra processor & double FPS sensor readout. But lens will always set a limit how fast things would be. |
