This is a current product - there is nothing vintage about it me thinks. Perhaps retro styling and definitely not integrated into he Sony's micro-circuitry.

Well, "vintage" in terms of "classic", not outdated.
Even Cosina calls it a "Classic Edition" lens.

I think it's very interesting to see how these "classic" lenses perform on modern cameras.
One day, please also also test some M42 lenses such as Takumar 50/1.4 & 85/1.8 and CZJ Flektogon 35/2.4 <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

That's all good, but shouldn't the two Sigma lenses be higher priority for the review? They are more popular.

The tests are primarily driven by availability (from our perspective).
