I am Barbara and I want to know about lens L CANON 70-300 I have CANON 550D I want to know diference from 70-200 f/4 L IS USM and 70-300 L I need the lens for my travel Thank you Sorry my English [/quote] Both are very good optically. The 70-200mm f4 is less heavy and less wide. The 70-300 focusses super fast, and obviously has the 200-300mm range the 70-200 lacks. The 70-200mm f4 can, however, be used with a canon 1.4x extender or 1.4x Kenko tele converter, which then brings it to 200 x 1.4 = 280mm at f5.6, so comparable to the 70-300mm. I can't tell you which one will suit you better.. both are good lenses. More affordable and still good optically are the Canon EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 USM and the Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 USD VC. |
