Announcement: Revision of the MFT tests - Klaus - 11-27-2011 We are performing internal revisions every once in a while. Unfortunately we have to report a (now fixed) issue in the micro-four thirds section. The test results for the * Panasonic 20/1.7 * Panasonic 14-45/3.5-5.6 * Panasonic 45-200/4-5.6 have been (slightly) incorrect. Reason - the MTF RAW files are first DNG converted prior of being converted to JPG. Unfortunately there was a version change in the DNG converter between these three and the other tests in this section - and we (to precise - I) didn't the keep the converter version constant at the time. The problem is, however, that the newer converter uses a different demosaicing engine which produces slightly worse center ratings. This alone may be unfortunate for the validity of those three tests. However, the center resolution of the Panasonic 20/1.7 provided the reference value (measured max. LW/PH peak) so we had to revise all charts in the MFT section. As a consequence the LW/PH scale is now "lower" resulting in 1/3 of a mark better ratings although the LW/PH numbers remain the same. Apart from the three mentioned lenses this does not change the rankings within the category. We do deeply apologize for the issue. PS: You may need to flush your browser cache in order to receive the "new" results. |
