Did you feel the same way ? Or maybe it is not fair to compare the two lenses given that they are not exactly the same. next PZ lens test report: Canon EF 8-15mm f/4 USM L Fisheye - Yakim - 09-04-2011 I'm impressed. With this lens and the 17/4 TS Canon made two benchmarks WRT both novelty and optical excellence in the UWA arena, something it did not fare so well in the past. Now, about that 16-35/2.8 Mk III..... next PZ lens test report: Canon EF 8-15mm f/4 USM L Fisheye - Guest - 09-06-2011 Hi Klaus, Did you test the lens on an APS-C camera as well? Personally I own a 5DmkII and a 60D as well and like you said with the 5DmkII I am using the EF 8-15 4.0L almost without exception at 8mm or 15mm. On the 60D things are a bit different, here it is used as a ultra-wide to lineair fisheye lens (from 15mm to 10mm) which is also fun to use. For owners of both FF and APS-C EOS cameras this lens is quite a gem. Best regards, Rob next PZ lens test report: Canon EF 8-15mm f/4 USM L Fisheye - Klaus - 09-07-2011 [quote name='Robbert' timestamp='1315292583' post='11335'] Hi Klaus, Did you test the lens on an APS-C camera as well? That's the prime value proposition in my humble opinion. next PZ lens test report: Canon EF 8-15mm f/4 USM L Fisheye - Brightcolours - 09-07-2011 For a test of this lens on both FF and APS-C, read the Lenstip.com review. They also put it on the EOS 50D (and it performs well on APS-C too). http://www.lenstip.com/index.php?test=obiektywu&test_ob=311 next PZ lens test report: Canon EF 8-15mm f/4 USM L Fisheye - Klaus - 09-08-2011 [quote name='Brightcolours' timestamp='1315427817' post='11399'] For a test of this lens on both FF and APS-C, read the Lenstip.com review. Frankly a zoom is also not needed if you stick to a full frame fisheye so the Samyang 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye for a few bucks and it's really a good lens. next PZ lens test report: Canon EF 8-15mm f/4 USM L Fisheye - Guest - 09-08-2011 [quote name='Klaus' timestamp='1315424706' post='11396'] No, sorry. Have fun with the lens - it is certainly the best there is. |
