But I guess I will be waiting for the sample images at wide open with not so much distant backgrounds. I still believe that 1.8D does a good job concerning close up portraits when it comes to center sharpness and background blur... Other than that, it is very sharp... I hope it will have a reasonable price. So what does everybody think? Is it the right lens to add to an DX equipment when there is already a AF-S 35/1.8? Or would you rather get the AF-S 50/1.4? (which I wanted to buy this year before Nikon announced the 1.8) I think, for head shots, f1,4 at 50mm is a bit too wide open anyway. About f2.0 will do. And given the bokeh I'd rather get the new AF-S 50/1.8.
