Saddly no test photos for Nikon DX. but how good 300mm/f5.6 when subject is flat ? when i tested my own looks like very hard found subjets what are suitable flat but one picture what i getted yet (form my monitor) is impressive and i use dx body (d300s). i talk corner sharpness now. based this i think only CA is problem in some things but overall often very good lems. (earlier i think is not so good when i dont yet calculated some things like how big is dof in 300mm/f5.6 and to focusing to 2meters looks like lens is ok) ps. i know you dont have time get all possible photos.

It seems better than 70-300vr, But it is not Nikon. I don't know how to choose.
