When will see LCD camera screens readable in bright sunlight ? There seems to be no big advancement in the last few years on this point (at least not with Canon).

When we get to see AMOLED displays in cameras, I guess. When LCD's do not have to rely on back light anymore.

There actually have been advancements in the last few years. With each new generation of cameras, the lcds have become better. The 5D II lcd is quite usable in bright light, the 5D classic one wasn't.

The same is also true for xxxD and xxDcameras, and even the 1D/1Ds cameras.

Kind regards, Wim

A friendly "hello" from Vienna

To see your LCD clear under ANY circumstances I ´d suggest You might try so called "Hoodloupe " from Hoodman- it´s an optical device You put on the LCD blocking the outer light almost completely. An alternative is Vimeo LCDVF without dioptric regulation and

a third solution is called "Zacuto Z-finder"-horrendously expensiv but magnifying 3x and with high quality Schneider optics. You can wear it around Your neck with a strap or mount it on your LCD with a kind of a frame. The zacuto will give You an impression You´re lookin´on a PC-monitor =brilliant!!
